Assalamualaikum Sahabat sahabat semua,

Insyaallah tahun 2011 PPIM Chapter Perak telah diamanahkan untuk menganjurkan program Persidangan Saintifik Tahunan PPIM kali ke13.

Mudah mudahan kita semua sahabat sahabat Muslim dari semua kategori jawatan dalam bidang perubatan samaada houseofficer hingga ke Senior Consultant, dari Pelajar Perubatan hingga ke Pensyarah atau Dekan Universiti Perubatan serta paramedik ,Pembantu Pegawai Perubatan ,jururawat ,ahli Farmasi dsbnya akan dapat berhimpun sebagaimana yang kita lakukan setiap tahun sebelum ini untuk mencari PERTUNJUK,PENAWAR & RAHMAT seperti yang diikrarkan dalam motto persatuan ini.

Bagi pihak persatuan, pihak sekretariat ingin menjemput sahabat sahabat semua untuk datang ke Perak untuk bersama sama merealisasikan impian kita,berkongsi ilmu, disamping mengeratkan silatulrahim sambil mengambil kesempatan cuti hujung minggu yang panjang sempena Awal Muharram untuk meraikan kedatang tahun baru Islam di sini pada kali ini.

Sumbangan sahabat sekalian bagi menjayakan program kali ini sangatlah diharapkan dan dihargai.

CONGRATULATIONS FOR JOINING PPIM

PPIM was first registered in 1990 with 150 founder members from amongst Muslim doctors. It now has almost 700 members from all over Malaysia, from house-officers to senior consultants, Professors and Deans of Medical Schools. The spectrum of its members includes doctors in the government and private practices. Recently, it has also recruited associate members from the para-medics and nurses as well as students.

PPIM is an active member of an international organisation called Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA). With this network, it has organised many activities both at the international and national level in the form of seminars, colloquium, public forums and continuing medical education programmes. It is also a "meeting point" for colleagues in the medical field to unite lecturers and students, alumni, friends of the same interest (religious,
academic as well as social). It has an electronic mailing list and a homepage to boost communication and dissemination of information. All these activities are made to comply with the syari’ah and the activities fulfill the spirit of our motto : "Al-Hidayah, As-Syifa’, and Ar-Rahmah" (Guidance, Healing, Mercy), all of which are attributes derived from the Holy Qur’an.

As a Member you are entitled to be in the PPIM electronic mailing list (ppim-net) to update information, networking with fellow members for social communications, consultations, discussions, advertisements and CMEs.

Most importantly you will also have a chance to contribute to the well being of the ummah in a concerted effort from your contributions in whatever expertise or form you wish. The association welcomes all positive contributions.

‘Perhimpunan Perdana Student Chapter 2009’ is an exquisite annual event which gathers all allied medical and health sciences students as well as members of PPIM Student Chapter from local and abroad colleges and universities. Exposure to issues unrelated to academic syllabus and normal curriculum are discussed. It is also an opportunity for students to apply the theories gained and expose them to the real life situations on providing better quality of life aside from reaching out to the local villagers with talent and energy as a humanitarian work. Among the activities planned to be carried out during the event are:

Fruit : is it before or after ?

Doctors advise that, prior to eating, man should start with the soft and easily digestible food in order to prepare the oral glands secreting the peptic juice (saliva amylase) or the glands in stomach and duodenal to start functioning gradually in digesting food. Minutes later, man can start eating the main dish.

A slice of fruit or dates are cases in point of soft food.

The Quranic statement mentions fruit in advance of meat, in a remarkable reference to the previous meaning when addressing the state of believers in paradise: “and such fruits as they shall choose, and such flesh of fowl (chicken) as they desire…” (56: 21)

Relief of Pain-A Medical Discovery

IT is a long-established custom among Muslim parents to put a piece of well-chewed date (or other available sweet fruit) in the mouth of a newborn baby or belah mulut in our Malay tradition. Muslims do this following the practice of the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh), believing him to be, as the Qur’an says, sent as a healing and a mercy to mankind. We may infer from the way this custom originated that there is a virtue in it. There is - complimentary to the virtue and pleasure of following the Sunnah (the practice of the Prophet) - placing a ‘sugary substance’ inside the mouth of a new-born baby dramatically reduces pain sensation and heart rate.

An interesting scientific medical study, published in the British Medical Journal (No 6993, 10 June 1995), proved beyond any doubt the benefit of giving a new-born child sugar, in order to reduce the feeling of any painful procedure like heel pricking for a blood sample or before circumcision.
The study, entitled ‘The analgesic (pain killing) effect of sucrose in full term infants: a randomised controlled trial’, was done by Nora Haouari, Christopher Wood, Gillian Griffiths and Malcolm Levene in the post-natal ward in the Leeds General Infirmary in England. 60 healthy infants of gestational age 37-42 weeks and postnatal age of 1-6 days, were randomized to receive 2ml of one of the four solutions: 12.5% sucrose, 25% sucrose, 50% sucrose, and sterile water (control).

The first group of 30 babies received sugar syrup before a routine blood test (heel pricking, which is usually painful) done to detect jaundice. The other 30 babies were given only sterile water as a control group. Placing 2ml of a 25% or 50% sucrose solution on the tongue before pricking the heel significantly reduced the crying time, compared to babies who got water. Also, their heart rate returned to normal more quickly. The stronger sugar solution had the greater effect, crying being reduced further with increasing concentration of sucrose. From which we may conclude that sucrose (sugar) placed on the tongue may be a useful and safe form of analgesia for use with newborn infants.

Blass and Hoffmeyer also showed that 12% solution of inter-oral sucrose significantly reduced the duration of crying in new-born babies subjected to heel pricking or circumcision. This study was reported in The Independent newspaper (Friday 9 June 1995) as well as in the British Medical Journal article.

The practice of the Prophet (Pbuh) is recorded in the collections of his sayings and reports about him, of which the most revered are the two Sahih collections of Bukhari and Muslim: Abu Buradah reported from Abu Musa, who said: ‘I had a new-born baby; I took him to the Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace and blessings, who called him Ibrahim. The Prophet chewed a date then he took it and rubbed the inside of the baby’s mouth with it.’ There are many other reported incidents like this one.

The date contains a very high percentage of sugar (70-80%); it has both fructose and glucose which have high calorific values, it is easily and quickly digestible, and very helpful to the brain. The date contains 2.2% protein, vitamin A, vitamins B1, B2 adnicotruic acid (against Pellagra); it has traces of minerals needed for the body such as potassium, sodium, calcium, iron, manganese, copper. Potassium, of which percentage is very high, has been found to be very effective for cases of haemorrhage, such as the occasions of birth or circumcision.
We may note that the Sunnah also commends dates for the breaking of the fast in Ramadhan. Dates should be eaten, if available, before the sunset prayer - this is medically and nutritionally the best way and the Sunnah.

The great worth of dates is also indicated in a famous and beautiful passage of the Qur’an, surah Maryam, verses 25-6:

And shake towards you the trunk of the palm-tree and it will drop on you fresh ripe dates. So eat and drink and be comforted.

This was the prescription of God, the Creator, for the blessed Virgin Mary at the time of the birth of Jesus, the blessed Prophet of God. It was a prescription to make the delivery easy and comfortable. As in the example we have briefly recorded, we believe further research will confirm for those who still doubt the full worth and truth, the wisdom, of the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah.

We shall show them our signs on the furthest horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness over all things? (Fusilat, 41.53)

As the authors of the medical study referred to intend trying new sugary or sweet substances, we shall recommend that they try dates for the newborn for the relief of pain.

Medical Miracles in The Holy Quran-The sensation of skin pain

It was commonly believed, for several centuries, that the body is all sensitive to pain. It was not clear then that there were specialized nerves in the body responsible for transporting all kinds of pain and other sensations, until recently when anatomy has discovered the role of specialized nerve endings in transporting all different kinds of pain.

The most significant nerve sensations in the human body are:
The sensation of touch: the corpuscles responsible for such sensation are called Meissners and Merkels corpuscles.
The sensation of pain: this is transported by the nerve endings in the skin.
The sensation of heat: this is the responsibility of Ruffini cylinders corpuscles.

The nerve endings will be exposed if the dermis and epidermis layers are injured

Taking skin burns as a distinct cause for the skin sensation of pain, burns can be divided into 3 types:

1- Burns of first degree (sun burns): these affect the epidermis causing swelling and moderate pain. The phenomena of redness, swelling and pain usually disappear within two to three days.

2- Burns of second degree: epidermis and dermis are injured. In such a case, a detachment occurs between epidermis and dermis, causing the collection of secretions between these two layers

(Figure 2). Burns of second degree(blister on the leg , very painful if outburst)

The injured person suffers from severe pain, and excessive increase of pain sensation, due to irritation of exposed nerve ending particularly after the outburst of blisters. The skin starts to heal within 14 days as a result of the process of renovation and inversion under the skin.

3- Burns of third degree: the whole skin thickness is burned and perhaps the injury may reach the muscles or the bone. The skin loses elasticity and becomes rough and dry. In this case, the injured person do not feel much pain, as nerve endings have been damaged almost completely due to burning

The Quran states ; “Those who reject our signs, We shall cast into the fire; as often as their skins are roasted through. We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the punishment; for Allah is Exalted in power; Wise.” ( 4:56)

(إنَّ الذٌينّ كّفّرٍوا بٌآيّاتٌنّا سّوًفّ نصليهم نّارْا كٍلَّمّا نّضٌجّتً جلودهم بدلناهم جلوداَ غيرها ليذوقوا العّذّابّ إنَّ اللَّهّ كّانّ عّزٌيزْا حّكٌيمْا) (النساء56).
Allah did not say “as often as their skins are burned”, as burning could be partial, but He rather said: “as often as their skins are roasted through”, i.e., totally burned with all nerves of sensation and pain. So, He the Almighty associated between the sensation of pain and the skin when roasted and burned totally, thus losing its structure and function. When sensation of pain is lost, a new fully composed and functional skin is replaced, where the nerve ending responsible for the painful sensation of heat and burn perform and function to make the unbeliever taste the punishment of being burned with fire over and over again.

THE OATH OF A MUSLIM PHYSICIAN

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, the Sustainer of His Creation, the All-knowing.
Glory be to Him, the Eternal, the All-Pervading.
O Allah, Thou art the only Healer,
I serve none but Thee, and, as the instrument of
Thy Will, I commit myself to Thee.
I render this Oath in Thy Holy Name and I undertake:

To be the instrument of Thy Will and Mercy, and, in all humbleness, to exercise justice, love and compassion for all Thy Creation;
To extend my hand of service to one and all, to the rich and to the poor, to friend and foe alike, regardless of race, religion or colour;
To hold human life as precious and sacred, and to protect and honour it at all times and under all circumstances in accordance with Thy Law;
To do my utmost to alleviate pain and misery, and to comfort and counsel human beings in sickness and in anxiety; To respect the confidence and guard the secrets of all my patients;
To maintain the dignity of health care, and to honour the teachers, students, and members of my profession;
To strive in the pursuit of knowledge in Thy name for the benefit of mankind, and to uphold human honour and dignity;
To acquire the courage to admit my mistakes, mend my ways and to forgive the wrongs of others;
To be ever-conscious of my duty to Allah and His Messenger (S.A.W.), and to follow the precepts of Islam in private and in public.
O Allah grant me the strength, patience and dedication to adhere to this Oath at all times.

CHARACTER OF THE PHYSICIAN

The physician should be amongst those who believe in God, fulfill His rights, are aware of His greatness, are obedient to His orders, who refrain from His Prohibitions, and who serve Him in secret and in public.
The physician should be endowed with wisdom and practise graceful admonition. He should be cheering not dispiriting, smiling and not frowning, loving and not hateful, tolerant and not edgy. He should never succumb to a grudge or fall short of clemency. He should be an instrument of God's justice, forgiveness and not punishment, coverage and not exposure.
He should be so tranquil as never to be rash even when he is right. Chaste of words even when joking ... tame of voice and not noisy or loud, neat and trim and not shabby or unkempt... conducive of trust and inspiring of respect ... well-mannered in his dealings with the poor or rich, modest or great . . in perfect control of his composure ... and never compromise his dignity, however modest and forbearing.
The physician should firmly know that 'life' is God's ... awarded only by Him ... and that 'Death' is the conclusion of one life and the beginning of another. Death is a solid truth ... and it is the end of all but God. In his profession the physician is a soldier for "Life" only ... defending and preserving it as best as it can be, to the best of his ability.
The physician should offer a good example by caring for his own health. It is not befitting for him that his "do's" and "don'ts" are not observed by himself. He should not turn his back on the lessons of medical progress, because he will never convince his patients unless they see the evidence of his own conviction... God addresses us in the "Qur'an" by saying, "and make not your own hands throw you into destruction". The Prophet says, "Your body has a right on you" ... and the known dictum is "no harm or harming in Islam".
The physician is truthful whenever he speaks, writes or gives testimony. He should be invincible to the dictates of creed, greed, friendship or authority pressurizing him to make a statement or testimony that he knowsis false. Testimony is a grave responsibility in Islam. The Prophet once asked his companions, "Shall I tell you about the gravest sins?" When they said "yes," he said "claiming partners with God, being undutiflil to one's parents ... The physician should be in possession of a threshold-knowledge of jurisprudence, worship and essentials of Fiqh to enable him to give counsel to patients seeking his guidance about health and bodily conditions with a bearing on the rites of worship. Men and women are subject to symptoms, ailments or biological situations. For instance, women during pregnancy may wish to know the religious ruling pertaining to prayer, fasting, pilgrim-age, family planning, etc.Although 'necessity overrides prohibition' the Muslim physician-nevertheless-should spare no effort in avoiding the recourse to medicines or therapy or surgery, or medical or behavioral dictates that are prohibited by Islam.
The role of a physician is that of a catalyst through whom God, the Creator, works to preserve life and health. He is merely an instrument of God in alleviating people's illnesses. For being so designated, the physician should be grateful and forever seek God's help. He should be modest, free from arrogance and pride and never boast or hint at self-glorification through speech, writing or direct or subtle advertisement.
The physician should strive to keep abreast of scientific progress and innovation. His zeal or complacency and knowledge or ignorance, directly bear on the health and well-being of his patients. Responsibility for others should limit his freedom to expend his time. As the poor and needy have a recognized right in the money of the capable, so the patients own a share of the doctor's time spent in study and in following the progress of medicine.
The physician should also know that the pursuit of knowledge has a double indication in Islam. Apart from the applied therapeutic aspect, pursuit of knowledge is in itself worship according to the Qur'anic guidance, "And say ... My Lord... advance me in knowledge" and "Among His worshippers ... the learned fear Him most".. and "God will raise the ranks of those of you who believed and Those who have been given knowledge."

Saintifik Meeting kali ke-10 telahpun tamat setelah berlangsung selama 2 hari di Hospital Serdang dengan PPIM Selangor selaku penganjurnya.

Tahniah kepada Dr. Hj. Abdul Karim selaku pengerusi Jawatankuasa Penganjur dan AJK nya yang tentunya bertungkus lumus mempastikan program ini berlangsung dengan jayanya.

Dr.Hj. Abdul Karim Pakar Forensik terkenal -Pengerusi Penganjur(maaf kualiti gambar kurang memuaskan)

Topik topik isu semasa yang terkini serta penceramah yang berwibawa menjadikan Saintifik Meeting kali ini amat berguna untuk membuka minda ahli .Isu isu 'syariah-based medicine" sangat menarik dan telah di bincangkan dengan panjang lebar walaupun kadang kadang penceramah agak kesuntukkan masa untuk membawakan topik mereka.

Dr.Basir Towil -Pakar Orthopaedik yang membuka majlis dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci dan terjemahannya.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Latiff bin Mohamed-Presiden PPIM berucap di majlis perasmian.

Setuju sekali dengan kata kata di atas..banyak cabarannya mendidik anak anak dimasakini.

Dr.Maimunah Mohd Fadzil, Dr.Nurrashidah Wahab, Dr. Amaluddin Ahmad dan Prof. Dr. Abdul Latiff ahli panel yang serius membincangkan Isu-isu sosial wanita dan kanak-kanak di bidang
perubatan.

Dr.Hj.Danial Zainal Abidin dengan syarahan Az-Zahrawi yang menarik sekali dan buku buku hasil tulisannya.

SS Dr.Mohd.Asri -Mufti Perlis bertolak jam 4 pagi dari Perlis untuk hadir memberi ceramah Cabaran Perubatan Muslim di sini.Ermmm......... idea -idea yang lain dari yang lain.

SUNATHON 2007

Aktiviti akhir tahun 2007 PPIM Perak dengan menganjurkan program SUNATHON percuma kepada 156 kanak-kanak lelaki.Program selama sehari berlangsung di Kampong Datok Kamaruddin,Bidor pada 8 DISEMBER 2007.
Ramai para doktor, paramedik dari hospital dan klinik kesihatan dan pelajar perubatan dari CUCMS,RPMC,UMS dan PMC turut serta membantu secara sukarela.Presiden PPIM sendiri tidak ketinggalan turut serta membantu menjayakan program ini. Terima kasih pada semua.

Doa dibaca oleh Mohd Fitri, pelajar Farmasi CUCMS...memohon restu memudahkan segalanya.

Kanak-kanak di kampung dilibatkan sama sebagai penyambut tetamu dan membawa bunga manggar.

Seperti biasa selesai upacara perasmian anggota bomba memandikan kanak-kanak ini..enjoy dulu okey?

tapi.....ada yang dah tak sanggup!puas dipujuk ayah.

Pendaftaran peserta dibantu pelajar perubatan CUCMS dan tungguuu giliran...

Di dewan bedah(sebenarnya bilik darjah ) persiapan sedang dibuat untuk melancarkan proses sunat yang akan dijlankan.Dua dewan bedah disediakan dengan 20 katil (sebenarnya 4 meja murid yang dicantumkan).Ada yang bertugas prepare ubat bius.

Dewan mula dipenuhi oleh sukarelawan dan 'pemerhati'.

Operasi sunat bermula ....

Yang Berhormat mengambil kesempatan melawat.

Keadaan mula panas bila dewan penuh dengan pelawat.

Sukarelawan tekun bertugas, kanak kanak mula cemas..

Alhamdulillah semuanya dah selesai..tunggu sekejap untuk dibuat pemantauan..kalau kalau ada perdarahan melampau sebelum dibenarkan pulang.Setiap kanak kanak dapat sumbangan duit dan makanan.Wah! BESTNya!

Ibu tunggal ini tidak putus putus mengucapkan terima kasih setelah selesai anaknya disunatkan, dua orang sekali gus.

Ini peserta yang paling muda, Zul Aiman, 4tahun dari Penang.

Di luar dewan, pemeriksaan kesihatan juga dijalankan.

Ada yang dah keletihan...penat

Akhirnya semuanya selesai sebelum jam 4 petang.Terima kasih semua.Jazakallah.

156 kanak-kanak sertai program anjuran PPIM bersama penuntut Kolej Perubatan Cyberjaya

BIDOR: Persatuan Perubatan Islam Malaysia (PPIM) cawangan Perak memilih Bidor sebagai lokasi bagi aktiviti sosialnya melalui program ‘Sunathon’ beramai-ramai sempena cuti panjang persekolahan, baru-baru ini.

Program itu membabitkan penyertaan 156 kanak-kanak lelaki berusia bawah 12 tahun dari pelbagai latar belakang keluarga termasuk petani, peniaga sehingga kakitangan kerajaan dan swasta turut menjayakannya secara besar-besaran.

Peserta bukan saja datang dari sekitar Perak, malah ada yang datang dari beberapa negeri lain termasuk Kelantan, Selangor, Johor dan Kedah.Bagi melengkapkan program berkhatan itu sebuah kereta Bomba dan Penyelamat dari Bidor didatangkan khas untuk memeriahkan sambutan.Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (Adun) Ayer Kuning, Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan menyempurnakan majlis perasmian program berkhatan secara percuma itu di pekarangan surau Kampung Dato Kamaruddin di sini, baru-baru ini.

Penyelaras program, Syed Azhar Syed Mohd Masri, berkata berikutan sambutan menggalakkan, penganjur terpaksa menolak permintaan beberapa keluarga bagi anak mereka menyertai acara berkhatan itu.Beliau berkata, orang tempatan yang bekerja di luar Perak yang membawa keluarga pulang bercuti di kampung turut mengambil kesempatan mengkhatankan anak masing-masing“Kami terpaksa meminta maaf kepada ibu bapa terbabit kerana terpaksa menolak permohonan mereka berikutan bilangan peserta sudah melebihi sasaran asal, tambahan pula pakar untuk mengendalikan majlis berkhatan itu terhad.“Sambutan ibu bapa terhadap program pertama kali ini di luar dugaan dan ini mungkin disebabkan cuti persekolahan yang panjang dan mereka mahu mengambil kesempatan itu untuk mengkhatankan anak masing-masing,” katanya.

Exco PPIM cawangan Perak, Dr Zabidah bt.Abdullah, berkata program itu juga sebagai saluran terbaik merapatkan perhubungan antara masyarakat dengan persatuan.Beliau berkata, persatuan menyediakan kepakaran terdiri daripada doktor dan pembantu hospital yang turut dibantu penuntut Kolej Perubatan Cyberjaya.“Persatuan mengucapkan terima kasih atas bantuan dan kesanggupan 33 profesional termasuk doktor dari beberapa kawasan termasuk daerah Batang Padang dan Ipoh membantu menjayakan sunathon.“Matlamat asalnya, khusus untuk membantu kanak-kanak miskin tetapi dibuat secara terbuka selepas menerima permintaan yang tinggi daripada ramai ibu bapa untuk anak turut serta,” katanya yang mempunyai sebuah klinik persendirian di pekan Bidor.Beliau berkata, idea untuk mengadakan sunathon timbul selepas menerima maklumat ada seorang pelajar berusia 15 tahun masih belum bersunat disebabkan kemiskinan keluarga, manakala bayaran perkhidmatan bersunat di klinik swasta adalah antara RM90 hingga RM120 seorang.

Sementara itu, seorang petugas dari Kolej Perubatan Cyberjaya, Hazirah Mohd Nor, 20, berkata penyertaannya tahun ini adalah kali kelima.“Saya gembira menyertai program amal ini kerana dapat memantap kebolehan dan mematangkan minda serta menambah pengalaman,” katanya.

Ibu tunggal, Zulhijah Md Radzi, 41, bersyukur kerana berpeluang menghantar anaknya menyertai program itu.“Saya gembira kerana banyak pihak tampil membantu, tambahan pula ia dilakukan secara percuma dan sudah pasti dapat meringankan beban orang ramai terutama ibu tunggal seperti saya,” katanya.Rakannya, yang juga ibu tunggal, Samsiah Musa, 47, berharap program itu diteruskan pada masa depan terutama untuk membantu keluarga miskin termasuk ibu tunggal.

Kem Medik Remaja Perempuan

Kita usah menyalahkan remaja jika berlaku masaalah sosial dikalangan mereka kerana mungkin mereka mereka ini terlalu naif dan sentiasa ingin mencuba sesuatu yang berbeza dan mencabar.Kita cuba dekati mereka dan selami permasaalah mereka sambil berkongsi ilmu remaja yang mungkin mereka sedang lalui.

Bertempat di Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Tronoh kita telah menganjurkan satu Kem selama 2hari untuk peserta remaja perempuan seluruh daerah dari Negeri Perak untuk Kem Medik Remaja.

Semasa Pendaftaran,Dr. Norkhadijah memastikan segalanya berjalan lancar.

Antara remaja yang hadir errr..tapi yang berbaju merah di depan tu bukan lah peserta sebenarnya dialah Dr. Faridah yang menjadi koordinator Kem ini.

Kehadiran penceramah-penceramah yang berwibawa memberi semangat baru kepada remaja ini.Presiden PPIM Pusat, Prof. Abdul Latif

Pakar SakitPuan dan Obstetrik HUKM @ dari JIM memberikan tip tips rahsia remaja untuk gadis gadis ini.

Begitu juga pendakwah yang tidak asing lagi, Dato' Dr Abd. Razak Kechik yang turut berkongsi pengalaman.

Sijil sijil penyertaan dan penghargaan juga diberikan di akhir kem yang disampaikan sendiri oleh Tuan Presiden PPIM Pusat.

Setelah selesai tidak dilupa mengabadikan kenangan bersama semua.

Dan pihak Urusetia yang bertungkus lumus memastikan kelancaran Kem ini.Terima kasih semua.

KEMPEN MATA-mencari cahaya

Mata dan keupayaannya untuk melihat merupakan aset penting kita.Tanpa dijaga dan dikesan kerosakkan awal ..akan hilanglah cahaya itu.

Kempen mata yang bertujuan mengesan katarak dan kerosakkan penglihatan masyarakat merupakan projek pertama PPIM Perak.

Pada tarikh 22 April 2006 PPIM Perak bertempat di Dewan Orangramai Pekan Bidor, Perak program saringan katarak dan pemeriksaan mata serta pemeriksaan kesihatan (BP,Screening for Diabetes, Fat analysis) di jalankan .Sambutan dari orangramai dari berbilang kaum Melayu, India, China dan Orang Asli sangat lah mengejutkan.

Seawal jam 7 pagi mereka sudah beratur menunggu mendapatkan nombor giliran.

Pihak Urusetia juga mengambil kesempatan mendaftar ahli baru PPIM Chapter Perak.
Urusetia yang setia menunggu meja pendaftaran, Dr.Nafiza dan Sister Norma.
Orangramai sudah beratur panjang menunggu giliran untuk pemeriksaan mata oleh team Klinik Mata dari Hospital Teluk Intan...sabar ya
Menunggu giliran daftar,periksa dan rawatan atau perlu dirujuk? Orangramai yang memenuhi dewan juga dihiburkan oleh kanak-kanak dengan persembahan menarik sementara menunggu giliran pemeriksaan..

Ini di luar dewan kaum wanita mendaftar untuk pemeriksaan kesihatan.
Wanita ini juga tidak melepaskan peluang untuk memeriksa tekanan darahnya.Ok ke misi saya punya BP?..
Analisa lemak badan juga dibuat oleh Dr. Asmah sendiri.Bravo !ramai juga yang berminat untuk mengetahui kandungan lemak dalam badan mereka.Ok ke doktor? mungkin untuk yang nak di tanya kan Pakcik dan Cikgu disebelahnya tu?

Anak-anak juga tak dilupakan..jom kaler cantik cantik, kita lihat siapa yang menang.

"Doktor muda" dari sekolah rendah juga datang untuk dibiasakan dengan aktiviti begini.

Kaum wanita yang berminat mengubah pula di ajak bertanding menggubah buah-buahan yang bagus untuk mata.Nampaknya mereka sangat tahu apa yang baik untuk mata..Buah-buahan tempatan pun bagus juga kan kak?

Lagi best dapat hadiah besar selepas itu yang disampaikan oleh Dr.Asiah."Tolong pegang misi, beratnya hadiah, ni taklarat saya"

Dan ...nampak kat belakang gambar di bawah,yang bersongkok putih dengan isterinya,cikgu bersara yang setia menunggu untuk memberikan air percuma kepada semua!Penat tapi berbaloi setelah selesai semuanya ada yang kata begini kepada saya."Best!Tahniah!" dan Alhamdulillah.

Mudah mudahan kita dikurniakan kelapangan masa dan keupayaan untuk berusaha memberi sumbangan tenaga bagi membantu dalam aktiviti aktiviti sukarela yang akan dijalankan oleh PPIM Perak .
